Much like spiders themselves, no one enjoys seeing spider veins – most of all on your own self! And yet, it happens to the best of us. The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery says that more than 40% of women have some form of varicose vein condition including spider veins, and the likelihood of getting them increases as you age.
Thankfully, we’ve made it our business here at Chesapeake Vein Center and MedSpa to treat your vein concerns, including spider veins, and help you regain clear, smooth skin! Here’s how you can finally be rid of pesky spider veins, and be done slathering on the coverup to hide them:
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a simple procedure that involves injecting the targeted veins with a special solution that causes the veins to collapse and gradually fade in the weeks following your treatment. There is little to no downtime required, but you will be asked to walk around immediately after your treatment, to encourage normal blood flow. You should also expect to wear compression stockings a few weeks following your treatment, to minimize swelling and also speed your healing.
Laser PhotoFacials
With laser vein treatments, your spider veins will be targeted with non-invasive laser energy. The laser light disables the vein, causing it to collapse and gradually fade without breaking the skin. A series of treatments is often recommended, but the specific number needed will be determined during your personal consultation.
Now that you know how we can help you treat those spider veins you’ve been bothered by for so long, you’re ready to give us a call at (757) 819-7633 or schedule a consultation online today to get started toward clear, beautiful skin!
