Results and Patient Experience May Vary
“Dr. Challa, Bob and I want to thank you for both your professionalism as well as your compassionate demeanor in the healing of my surgery—plus that “____” you took to make it 100% better. We are fortunate to have _____ physician such as yourself and associates. Also, your office staff is to be commended.”
“I’m writing this letter to you concerning my stay at your facility. The treatment and medical care your staff provided was given in the most professional and caring manner. The employees I came in direct contact with were credits to your facility. Dr. Challa and the nursing staff both in the E.R. and on the unit that I stayed made me feel comfortable during a stressful time. Having employees like these will allow your facility to provide excellent medical care for years to come. I thank you very much.”
“I appreciate your concern in my behalf. You’re the best—thanks!
I would like to thank you and your staff for the kindness, professionalism and help you have extended to me since my first appointment in 2017. That visit revealed I had a hernia that required surgery which you performed October 4, 2017. During the surgery a second hernia along with a problem in my abdominal wall was discovered. You repaired all three problems successfully. This past Spring, a visit to my gynecologist revealed I needed a full hysterectomy and a visit to you revealed I needed another hernia surgery. Lots was going on in my abdomen. You and Dr. Rebecca Ryder consulted and confirmed both surgeries could be performed one after the other on the same day. It still amazes me that both surgeries were coordinated so that I would not have to undergo two separate surgeries. I am very grateful that you and Dr. Ryder worked together to make this possible. Prior to the July 2 surgeries, Dr. James Dowd, my orthopedic surgeon, was contacted to ensure the complete left hip replacement I received January 9, 2019 was strong enough for the procedures. All was well and the July 2nd surgeries were successfully performed. I am grateful that you took the time to consult with Dr. Ryder about combining the surgeries, then worked with her to complete both procedures. I am sure surgeons do work together but this was the first knowledge I had of it happening. What a blessing it was for me, one time in the operating room, same recovery time, less time missed from work. Thank you so very much for working to repair my hernia and for having my best interest upmost in your mind. I will gladly recommend you to anyone I know who requires hernia or any general surgery within the scope of your expertise.
“Thank you for your surgical skill and care during my recent hospital stay. I know I will get to enjoy more sunrises and sunsets in the years ahead.”
“Dr. Challa and Glenna, We appreciate the good care and consideration you gave to us as we struggled together to diagnose his illness. Thank you both so much.”
“Dear Dr, Challa, I just wanted to say thank-you for being so kind and taking such good care of me. I am so pleased since the surgery. That horrible pain in my head is totally gone and I feel like a new person. I am grateful I had it done. Thank you for listening and taking me seriously. You are a compassionate and fine doctor.”
“Hello Dr. C, Thank you for caring for my mother. God be with you, Thanks again.”
“Dear Dr. Challa, Thank you for the excellent care, and warm compassion you gave to our mom. We appreciate all you have done for her since last December. It has been an absolute pleasure to have met you, and witnessed your skill, dedication, and genuine caring for everyone you come in contact with. As you move on we wish you continued professional success, and much happiness in your life.”
“Dear Dr. Challa: I must write and tell you that I’m thankful that you were in the emergency room. But seriously, your expertise and kindness and compassion throughout my entire stay at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, is so appreciated, you have no idea. I feel I’m here and doing so well because of your quick thinking and for that I’m eternally grateful.”
“Dear Dr. Challa, I just wanted to take the time to thank you for all that you have given my family. During my dad’s stay at Rappahannock General, he received exceptional care from you as well as your staff. It was hard for me to find my father so scared and helpless. The time you took with him, my mother and me helped so much. (Not to mention-your talent as a surgeon.) You have a very calming and caring persona. That, blened with your humor and confidence, gives you a wonderful bedside manner. We were lucky to find you and lucky that much has turned out positive thus far. Thanks again and I wish you well.”
“Dr, Challa and Glena, Just a short note to say a special thanks for the attention, services and caring you both demonstrated on my recent office visits and procedures at the hospital, We were much impressed. I just finished a series of treatments and will get the results on April 5th. So far I am doing fine under the circumstances. Thanks again, stay well.”
“Dr. Challa, You are such a wonderful doctor. A lot of doctors treat their patients like they are a chore and just get it over with but not you. You treat them like they are somebody special you take time for them. You don’t see that up around here in (Sullivan), CO. Dr. Hamilton’s office did and that it until my daughter and I ran in you. Like I said your wonderful and my daughter says so also.
“Dear Dr. Challa, I just wanted to thank you for the care and consideration you showed for my wife while she was under your care in December. Your decisions in choosing diagnostic tests, and a colonoscopy with biopsy examination led to a diagnosis. We are grateful that her condition has been identified after months of discomfort, and that the diagnostic process was relatively short. This is due in large part to your care and treatment. Thank you again with warmest regards and gratitude to the rest of the nursing and hospital staff.”
“Thank you for your dedication to fixing my problem and restoring me to 100%. God Bless You.”
“Dear Dr. Challa, Thank you so very much, to you, and your associates and staff for taking such good care of my mother. It is such a rare gift to be able to extend a blend of expertise, professionalism, and compassion to a patient, and their families and you possess this gift thank you for being so kind and patient. It is difficult to be back—and not be right there- but my work with hospice is here—and I’m glad my mom is with my sister for now. Again, thank you.”
“Dear Dr. Challa, Mere words cannot offer the gratitude I feel for your expertise and caring. It shouldn’t be forgotten.”
“To Dr. Challa, Thank you for taking the time to listen to me and encouraging me to have surgery-I feel so much better! I am thankful for your skilled hands, kind words and our friendship.”
“Thank you so very much for your gentle nature, compassion and your dedication. I have never met or had a doctor that genuinely cares for his patients like you. Again, Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
This is a long overdue letter and for that I apologize. In mid November 2006 I had a very close family member, admitted to Chesapeake General through your Emergency Room. She had been flown in critical condition with what was very quickly diagnosed as an intestinal blockage. She needed immediate surgery to try to save her life. Upon admission we were introduced to Dr. Surya Challa who was called to care for her. This is where I cannot begin to express my gratitude. From the very moment Dr. Challa introduced himself, he made this very hard journey a little easier for us. He explained to us exactly what was happening and what needed to be done in a very knowledgeable and professional way. Within a short period of time he had a team of surgeons to operate and was very open with us about the possible outcome. Dr. Challa’s surgery was a success but unfortunately she had a lot of other problems, including her age and chronic COPD. I just wanted to let Chesapeake General Hospital know how fortunate they are to have Dr. Challa in their hospital. It is rare to find a doctor who is excellent at what he does but has the time to care about the family and genuinely show it. He was extremely comforting and always there for us until the end. Although another doctor had taken over her general care he was the one we always turned to. He may never know how much that extra hug meant to me personally just after her passing. I hope that this will be passed on to Challa to let him know just how much we appreciated his profession and his shoulder at out time of need. I have told so many friends and relatives about Dr. Challa, so I do hope he is here to stay. I also want to thank the nurses for the excellent care they gave. Chesapeake General should be proud.
“Dr. Challa, I’m so sorry for the delay in writing to you. My mother was in your care. I just wanted to thank you for the care and compassion you showed her. She thought a great deal of you and I was happy that she had you as a physician. Mom was a very simple woman who was loving and had a great sense of humor. I miss her every day. Again, thank you for you wonder treatment of her. I appreciate the direct manner you have and the honesty when speaking of her condition.”
“Dear Dr. Challa, Thank you for everything you have done for me and my son. God knows how much my son means to me. Know things seem to be getting on track. So Just a little note to say thank you again from the bottom of my heart. Maybe now I can work and enjoy things without feeling so bad. Thanks again. “
“Dear Dr. Challa, Thank you so much for the pizza. It was very thoughtful of you. I have worked with many surgeons and I want to let you know that working with you has been very rewarding. Thank you again.”
“Hi Doc, Having a great time in southern Spain. We can see across to Africa on a clear day. The wine, seafood and beach is excellent.”
“Dear Dr, Challa, Thank you so much for all of your help when he wasn’t feeling well. Bob and I so much appreciated your compassion, your knowledge and your skill as a surgeon. The best part is that he is feeling better each day and by Christmas he should be full of smiles!”
“Dear Dr. Challa and Staff, I have a lot to be thankful for… and a lot of thanks I owe to you! You are all just too wonderful for words.”
“We wish to express our sincere thanks to our family and friends, Dr. Challa, the staff at C.R.M.C., all the county workers, the Liberty Fire Department, the members of the Liberty Presbyterian Church, and Mobile Medic who came to our aid after our recent car accident. Your cards, donations, prayers and acts of kindness have meant so much to us. Your thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.”
“Dear Dr. Challa and Staff, I just want to let you know how grateful I am to god for leading me to your direction to be under your care. I couldn’t ask for more! Also thank you for answering all my questions and clearing the doubts that clouded my thoughts. Also your staff are always wonderful and always pleasant. Please accept this very small gesture and celebrate with me in thanking god for allowing this great trials to come to pass with success and that he will continue to be with me for the upcoming challenge ahead! Always grateful!”
“Dear Dr. Challa, Thank you for the surgery. I feel much better. You were very nice and made me feel relaxed and confident at the time. I admire surgeons very much. It is an admirable prof. Thank you.”
“Dr. Challa, Words cannot express how thankful I am that you came into our lives. Thank you for listening to me and believing in me when it concerned my mom. You are a true blessing to us! If I can ever do anything for you just ask! Take care.”
“Dr. Challa, A thank you seems to be a complete understatement, but I wanted to thank you for saving my life. As I reflect on the experience, I could not have had better care and am thankful that you were still in the hospital the evening I came into the emergency room. The work you performed and the extra care you took to unsure that the area was cleaned has been significant to my recovery.”
“Dr. Challa, Thank you so much for saving my life. I will be forever grateful.”
