Today I go for my first of three Vein Ablation procedures at Chesapeake Vein Center. I am perhaps more excited than nervous, and remain extremely grateful to their dedicated staff. It has been an exhaustive process, getting my particular insurance carrier to acknowledge the necessity for my treatments (not everyone experiences this – thank goodness!), and Faith of Dr. Challa’s office has worked painstakingly on this process for over a year! I know she was probably sick of hearing from me, yet always treated me with encouragement, compassion and professionalism. I would be remiss if I did not mention the quality care I have received so far from Teauna (Med. Asst.) and Latonya (Ultrasound Tech) – and of course, Dr. Challa. He is what his patients and peers alike describe as a highly skilled doctor – who remains vigilant about implementing the latest technology to assist his patients. He possesses the rare ability to speak to his patients in “layman’s terms” without coming across condescending. I would highly recommend anyone with varicosities or undiagnosed leg pain/heaviness/swelling to make an appointment with this practice. Well… I have my support stockings and anti-anxiety tablet (prescribed by Dr. Challa to take the edge off) ready – and although I have every faith in their abilities, I remain a little nervous. I guess it’s the fear of the unknown. I will be posting an update after my procedure today. I hope that by sharing my experience, others may be put at ease and put forth every effort to seek care for their vein ailments! Tammy 😀 FOLLOW UP: First procedure done! Virtually painless – no biggee. Dr. Challa and staff comforting and professional. I was in and out of there in no time. I look forward to getting the rest of my procedures done and am feeling hopeful about having my leg pain, cramps and heaviness symptoms being relieved once and for all!
